Unfreezing the Corporate Swan

There is a specific kind of exhaustion reserved for the "Corporate Swan." You know the one: gliding serenely across the surface of the boardroom, meeting every deadline, projecting perfect competence, while paddling furiously underneath just to keep your head above water.

I spent 30 years in corporate strategy, and I know exactly how heavy that mask is. When you are navigating Imposter Syndrome, masking your neurodivergence to fit corporate norms, or surviving a toxic culture of workplace bullying, your body holds the score. You become frozen in a state of high alert.

You cannot simply "think" your way out of burnout. You have to move the stress out of your body.

The Kitchen Table Approach: In "The Executive Reset" sessions, we use a technique called Rhythm Release to unfreeze that trapped tension. We take large-scale paper and heavy charcoal, consciously marking out the weight, the frantic paddling, and the "shackles" of multi-tasking. It is aggressive, fast, and releasing.

Then, we introduce water and fluid acrylics. We watch as the rigid, harsh charcoal lines melt and blend into a fluid landscape. It is a powerful, somatic metaphor. We take the rigid survival state and physically transform it into a state of flow and agency.

The Takeaway: Your worth is not your workload. If you are frozen in survival mode, it is time to put down the spreadsheets and find a way to melt the ice.
