Frequently Asked Questions

  • I offer holistic creative therapy across three main paths:

    1. Youth, Families & Schools: 1:1 sessions, group workshops (like The Sensing Wild), and in-school interventions for neurodivergent children and their parents.

    2. Adults & Life Transitions: Single "Exhale" sessions, 6-week "Deep Dive" programmes, and small group circles for those navigating grief, menopause, fertility journeys, or chronic pain.

    3. Workplace Wellness: 1:1 "Executive Resets" for burnt-out leaders, and bespoke team workshops to build psychological safety.

  • The easiest way to start is by booking a Free Virtual Tea Break. It is a zero-pressure, 15-minute chat over Zoom or the phone. We will discuss what you or your child are currently navigating, check that we are the right fit, and figure out the best path forward. You can book this directly through the Contact page.

  • Traditional therapy often relies heavily on talking and analysis, which can be exhausting—especially if your nervous system is already overwhelmed. At Phoenix Creative Therapy, there is no clinical couch. We sit at the "Kitchen Table" and use art, clay, sand, rhythm, and nature to physically discharge stress and bypass the exhausted logical brain. Furthermore, my approach is grounded in deep, lived experience. I don't just know the theory; I have walked the path of EHCP battles, the NICU, and corporate burnout.

  • I am a Master Practitioner in Holistic Creative Therapy. I combine this clinical training with 30 years of corporate strategy experience and extensive background teaching Oracy, communication, and Makaton. But most importantly, you can trust me because I am an "Expert by Experience." I provide a space completely free of judgment because I understand exactly how heavy the mask can be.

  • I offer a range of pricing to suit different levels of support. A 1:1 "Exhale" session is £80, while our 6-week "Deep Dive" programme is £450. Group workshops start at £35, and corporate packages are built bespoke from £450. I also hold a Community Fund with £25 concession spaces to ensure this work remains accessible to low-income families.

  • Warm, sometimes messy, and completely safe. My studio is a "Yes Space" and a "No Mask Zone." There is no pressure to perform, to make "good art," or even to maintain eye contact if you don't want to. We work at your pace, using whatever tools your nervous system needs that exact day to find your calm.

  • You can fill out the form on my Contact page, drop me an email at jaynee@phoenixcreativetherapy.com, or call/message me directly at +44 (0) 7956197883. Or book a call via https://calendly.com/jayne-pooley/cuppa-and-a-chat

  • Not at all. Phoenix Creative Therapy has absolutely nothing to do with creating a masterpiece. The art, clay, and sand are simply tools to help you discharge physical stress and express feelings when logic and words fail. It is entirely about the process, not the final picture.m description

  • That is entirely okay. Many neurodivergent children are exhausted from being forced to "use their words" all day. We use Makaton, rhythm, nature, and tactile tools to communicate. Silence is often where the most profound nervous system regulation happens.

  • Individual sessions, small groups, and youth workshops take place at in Malmesbury where I utilise an existing space, in the South Cotswolds. The "Virtual Tea Break" and select 1:1 mentoring sessions can be held online. For schools and corporate teams, I travel directly to your premises. For small group workshops and creative parties these can be at your home, in a village hall - I bring the equipment with me.

  • Yes. I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate, which is standard for all my work with children, schools, and vulnerable adults (I am a Principal of Little Voices Cotswolds teaching singing and drama and I’m a school governor.

  • Absolutely. I hold current First Aid certification and have up-to-date, rigorous Safeguarding training. When working with schools or corporate teams, I am happy to provide all necessary compliance documentation, risk assessments, and policies prior to our sessions. I can provide certificates if required.

  • No, I am not a Clinical Psychologist and I do not provide medical diagnoses. My role is to support the nervous system, not to label it. I work in a complementary way alongside clinical teams (such as CAMHS or HCRG), providing the somatic and emotional grounding that traditional clinical settings often lack.

  • I firmly believe that financial hardship should not be a barrier to healing, especially for families navigating the SEND system. If you need to access this fund, please simply select "The Community Fund" on the contact form, and we will discuss it during your Virtual Tea Break with zero judgment.

  • Yes! Alongside my structured programmes, I offer "The Custom Build" for corporate teams focusing on psychological safety, as well as "The Creative Party" for groups of friends wanting a restorative, pressure-free evening of creative connection.

  • No, because you are the expert in your own life. My ethical mandate is to guide, not instruct. All of our sessions move at a completely client-led pace. Instead of dictating your goals, I will gently support you in identifying your own meaningful objectives —whether that is finding a 10-minute daily creative reset, or simply feeling safe enough to drop the mask. This ensures the power and control remain firmly in your hands. description
